Livelihood

Women and households empowered to meet basic needs look to the future with hope. Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty for the most vulnerable by strengthening household and women’s capacity to provide well for their children.

Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty for the most vulnerable by strengthening household and women’s capacity to provide well for their children.

At Women Health Channel Uganda, we believe that complementary connections exist between household or women income and their ability to meet their regular health expenditures, meet nutrition needs, care for children and pay school dues as such, we partner with communities to improve lives through programs on issues that affect their lives including improved food and nutrition security and better rural livelihoods. Through these partnerships, communities access the knowledge, skills and resources needed to improve their health, improve the well-being of women, children and households and overcome poverty.

When they cannot earn enough to make ends meet every day, women are unable to meet cost involved in seeking care including ANC and facility delivery, un able to feed their families, un able to foot the cost of care and raising their children. We mobilize communities to form prosper together saving groups for members/women to save for health emergencies, save for income and borrow to start or expand income generating activities so that women get sustainable sources of income to finance their regular health and nutrition expenditures and that of their children.
