Uganda has a high level of unmet need for family planning meaning that many women who want to delay or limit childbearing are currently not using any FP method. At Women Health Channel Uganda, we know contraception means better health, more girls in school, greater resources for families, communities and the nation. Demand for and uptake of family planning can be increased by expanding knowledge and addressing myths and misconceptions, reducing social, cultural and religious barriers and mobilizing community support as such, we create platforms at community level where community members regularly come together to share knowledge and experiences, offer peer to peer support & mentorship on family planning methods, use, dos &don’ts, possible side effects and their management but also connect communities to health facilities so that women and men have access to FP services of their choice.
